Shoes on the Altar

Lord, I’ll never have children of my own,
But, that doesn’t mean I’ll be alone,
For when I come to you at the throne,
You fill me with the love that you’ve shown.
I feel you with me day after day,
As we walk, you show me the way
I’ve devoted my life totally to you,
My “shoes on the altar” what you say, I do.
There’s no distractions to hold me down,
I long to share the love I’ve found.
I want my life, to be of service to you,
That when my journey here is through,
I will hear these words from you:
“Well done,
Good and faithful one;
Well done!”
